Former Manchester United and Liverpool striker, Michael Owen, has foreseen some of this weekend’s English Premier League, EPL, fixtures.
Manchester city will battle Chelsea on Saturday evening at the Etihad sports stadium following a 3-1 defeat to Liverpool in their last Premier League encounter.
Tottenham Hotspur can tackle West Ham United in an away Premier League fixture on Saturday afternoon at the London sports stadium, while Sheffield United will battle Manchester United on Sunday.
Speaking with Betfair, Owen gave his predictions thus
Man city vs. Chelsea: “City won the corresponding game 6-0 last season however Chelsea did win the reverse fixture at Stamford Bridge earlier within the season and only penalties were able to split the edges at wembley within the League cup final back in February.
“After their defeat at Anfield in their previous game city cannot afford to drop points, particularly at the Etihad, if they’re to put pressure on Liverpool in their quest after a hat-trick of titles.
“Chelsea has improved underneath Frank Lampard and their exciting young aspect area unit assured and gifted.
However look out a wounded spirit Guardiola and his side it will have been a long international break for the city boss.”
West Ham United vs. Tottenham: “West Ham have lost four of their last 5 league games while Spurs have their lowest points tally (14) after 12 league games for over a decade.
This might not be described as a game between 2 inform-sides.
“Manuel Pellegrini received a vote of confidence from the Hammers board once their latest defeat at Turf Moor and i think that faith are rewarded back at the London sports stadium.
“Spurs, despite their heavy defeat to Bayern Muenchen, have reserved their best performances for the Champions League of late and i feel the hosts can edge what promises to be a hugely entertaining London derby.”
Sheffield United vs. Man United: “Sheffield United are the surprise package of the season and Bramall Lane looks sure to be rocking for the visit of Manchester United who has picked up simply 5 points from their six away league games this term.
“Few would have foreseen that the Blades would be trying down on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer side within the table at the end of November and i believe they will maintain the one-point gap between the edges following a low-scoring draw.”
Arsenal vs. Southampton. “Arsenal had just one shot on target in their latest league defeat on the road at the King Power sports stadium and the Gunners have born points from winning positions in their last few games at the Emirates against Palace and Wolves.
Unai Emery’s aspect starts the day eight points off fourth place within the table and i think this is a must win game for the Gunners’ boss given Saints sits only 1 point and one place off the foot of the table.
