Stress and Mental Health
When you are studying 24/7 and not giving yourself time to relax, your stress levels are going to go through the roof, and that’s bad news. When your stress starts to get out of control, you are at serious risk of mental health issues like anxiety and depression, which are very common amongst college students. It’s so important that you find a balance between studying and relaxation, so you can protect your mental health and make sure that stress doesn’t get the better of you.
You need to take time out and find ways to blow off some steam between study sessions. That might be by going out with your friends and having a good time or you could even try ordering weed online and using that as a way to relax. Some people like to hit the gym and relieve their stress with a good workout. Whatever you decide to do, you need to find a way to relax and reduce your stress levels, otherwise, you will burn yourself out and the stress will overwhelm you.
If you are up all night studying, when are you getting your sleep? For a lot of college students, the answer is, I’m not. Sleep deprivation is a big problem amongst college students and it can be very damaging to your health. When you don’t sleep properly, it increases stress and you are more likely to suffer with mental health issues. Lack of sleep can lead to weight gain as well, and it will definitely have a big impact on your concentration and brain function. It’s not worth skipping out on sleep to study all night.
Lack of Activity
There has been a lot of research into the negative effects of sitting down and the results don’t look promising. Researchers have raised concerns about people that work in an office job because they spend all day sitting down and they are not very active at all, and that leads to all sorts of health problems. But if you’re studying all day and all night, you’re putting yourself at risk of the same problems.
When people are busy studying, they don’t want to take the time out to cook healthy meals. That means that they’re far more likely to live off junk food and when that is combined with a lack of sleep and lack of activity, you’re likely to start gaining weight very quickly. That’s why it’s important that you have some healthy snack alternatives and try to cook as much as you can.
All of these health problems will quickly add up and even though you are putting the hours in, your work will not be as effective. It’s better for your health and your academic performance to take a break every now and again and try to find more balance.
